A Silent March

Part of a series called ‘Mahatma in Me – a tribute to Mahatma Gandhi’
Inspired by the great visionary Mahatma Gandhi, Vibhor Sogani worked on a series of 12 art installations titled “Mahatma in Me – a tribute to Mahatma Gandhi.” The installations embody the Mahatma’s values of peace, equality and non-violence. Subtle images of Mahatma Gandhi and some impressions of his thoughts, expressed in reflective steel leaves the viewer reflecting on the Mahatma within. The collection of artworks was first displayed in Gujarat (India) in 2015, to commemorate 100 years of Mahatma Gandhi’s homecoming from South Africa. It was invited to Australia in 2016. The exhibition then travelled to some National Art Galleries and Museums across Africa in 2017.
